Wellbeing
Find out about how we support student wellbeing in our school. At Kurmond, we have a School Chaplain who supports wellbeing in the classroom and the playground. Mrs Morgan works with our students to support their learning, teach guitar group, the djembes and create art works. Our school is part of the Gotcha4Life Program. This is a three-year partnership that helps take action to embed mental fitness across the whole school community. With a focus on prevention, the program supports students, staff and families through simple daily habits, consistent language and evidence-based tools that make a lasting difference.

Additional learning support
Discover how we ensure every student feels safe and ready to learn, including those with disabilities and additional learning needs. Individualised Education Plans are developed for students who require extra learning support. Class teachers work closely with the Learning and Support Teacher, as well as parents and carers, to develop, implement, and review these plans

Support Class
Kurmond Public School's Support Class, offers specialist, small-class support for students with additional learning needs, fostering inclusion and personalised learning plans. Students who are eligible and meet criteria for support class enrolment are invited to speak to their local school to enquire about the process. Applications are organised by students' local schools and are assessed by a panel who then make the decision whether a placement is offered to the student and the location of the placement.
External providers
Our school works closely with families to make sure every child gets the support they need to learn and thrive. Sometimes this means bringing in specialist providers from outside our school, such as therapists funded by the NDIS or other programs.
High Potential and Gifted Education
At our school, we recognise that some students learn more quickly or shine in areas such as creativity, leadership, or sport, and we nurture these strengths through tailored lessons and activities that help advanced learners grow and thrive.
